OUR STORY
DEPPS UNDERGROUND started with one moment that changed our lives.
An accident at work changed everything.
What should have been an ordinary day became the beginning of a journey we never expected.
The physical injuries were only part of it.
Surgeries. Ongoing pain. Nerve damage. Uncertainty about the future. Losing the ability to live and work the way we once did.
Almost every part of our lives changed.
But there was another battle happening that nobody could see.
Mental health.
As the physical pain continued, everything became harder.
Losing independence. Losing parts of the life we had built. Constantly adapting to a new reality.
And while one of us was fighting through the physical battle, the other was making sacrifices to keep our family moving forward.
There were sacrifices nobody saw.
Putting personal needs aside. Carrying responsibilities that became heavier. Supporting each other through appointments, surgeries, setbacks, financial pressure, parenting and the uncertainty of not knowing what tomorrow would bring.
We learned that sometimes the person who looks strongest on the outside can be struggling just as much underneath.
Our journey taught us that people can fight battles every day without anyone around them knowing.
You can smile while you're hurting.
You can keep going while you're exhausted.
You can look completely fine while carrying something incredibly heavy.
That became the inspiration behind DEPPS UNDERGROUND.
We didn't start this brand because life was perfect.
We started it because life wasn't.
We wanted to take the experiences that changed us — the pain, frustration, darkness, resilience, emotion and moments of hope — and turn them into something creative.
Something real.
Something people could connect with.
That's where the bears came from.
Every bear represents something different.
An emotion.
A struggle.
A memory.
A chapter of someone's life.
The damaged, stitched horror aesthetic represents the scars life can leave behind.
Some scars are visible.
Others aren't.
DEPPS UNDERGROUND is our way of taking everything we've experienced and turning it into art, clothing and stories that other people can see themselves in.
